Updating a sequence
This results in a "gap" in the assigned sequence values.
When the system comes back up, Oracle will cache new numbers from where it left off in the sequence, ignoring the so called "lost" sequence values.
Tip: If you are looking for a more advanced auto-numbering system for your data, and Access is installed on your computer, you can import the Excel data to an Access database.
But, you can easily add sequential numbers to rows of data by dragging the fill handle to fill a column with a series of numbers or by using the ROW function.
If you want to make your sequences all start just after whatever values are already there, it's possible to do that for most common configurations like this: This script changes sequences with OWNED BY to the table and column they're referenced from. Sequences that are referenced by multiple tables or columns are ignored.
The following task sequence steps can be added to a Configuration Manager task sequence.
